Indonesian Student Exchange Program

Has been completed successfully

From 7th October till 21st, college teachers Ms. Yu Chenchen from Foreign language school, and Ms. Yan Moling from Textile Engineering School have leaded our 12 students to visit Gadjah Mada University (Indonesia, Yogyakarta), to participate in the student exchange program 2016. During this period, our students have joined in Indonesian lectures, learned Shaman dancing, travelling around Yogyakarta and become deeper understanding for local culture and people’s daily life. Apart from that, our students have also finished video making with their Indonesian student partners and had a report about culture exchange. Both group teachers have also given lectures about traditional Chinese and Chengdu culture.

During their stay in Yogyakarta, our students not only learned Indonesian language and local culture in the classes, but also had deeper feeling about each other and experienced the exotic culture. According to the feedback from the students, they all got great progress through this foreign language program and Indonesia were worth visiting.

From 1st to 14th November, Ms. Wati, group teacher from Indonesia, UGM University has led 12 Indonesian students to visit our college. They participated in our “The Belt and Road” international cultural and art activities: traditional Indonesian folk dancing (the Saman dance), attending international forums etc. Moreover, they have also finished project papers with our students at the end of this exchange program. UGM lecturers and students not only have better understanding for the traditional costumes difference between China and Indonesia. In the meantime, our Indonesian guests also experienced Chengdu local culture and Chinese national condition. Apart from that, Ms. Wati also gave our Chinese students a lecture with the theme “Experience Indonesian Culture and Nature——Yogyakarta Tourism”. In the closing ceremony, both students have showed their achievements. Our Indonesian guests told us, it is really wonderful having this experience visiting our college and they are also appreciate that our college has devoted so much efforts to support this program.

The students exchange program between our college and UGM Indonesia has lasted four years. Number of students has increased from 6 to 12. Besides English Tourism major, students from other departments can also apply to this program. Both Chinese and Indonesian students have won profound friendship, and we are looking forward to have deeper corporation in the near future.
