Mr. Zheng Boren, Professor of The National Taiwan University of Science and Technology Lecture in our College

In order to promote cross-strait cultural exchange and broaden the latest researches in information technology industry, Professor Zhang Fengman invite an expert in this sector, Mr. Zheng boren, Professor of The National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, come to our college to make a report.

On October 29, before the lecture, Mr. Zheng visits our college history museum. Ms. Zhang Xiaoqian, Executive Director of Foreign Affairs Office, explains for him. Mr. Zheng is able to get a brief knowledge of the history and current situation of our college and shows special interests in the students’ Prize-winning crafts. Then, Ms. Huang Xiaoping, Vice President discusses with him about online education system, vocational educational outlook and possible bilateral cooperation, and Mr. Zheng listens carefully and gives some valuable suggestions.

In the afternoon, Mr. Zheng gives a thematic lecture on “Innovation and Application of Big Data”. Mr. Zhang hosts the lecture and Mr. Xiao Gan, Director of Electrical Engineering School and related teachers and almost 200 students participate in the Lecture. At first, Mr. Zheng cites a lot of examples of success created by innovation in high-tech area to analyze entrepreneurial mode in Silicon Valley. Then, he emphasizes “the innovative ideas and self-reflection” which is especially important for a high-tech, and moreover, he points out the four major focuses on the information technology in current research field. At last, he takes Could Computer for an example to explain the revolution and the influence brought by Big data to other fields. Mr. Zhang’s wonderful speech gains students’ warm reflect in Q & A section and Mr. Zheng answered their question one by one patiently.

Just like Mr. Zhang says at the end of the lecture: “The lecture given by Mr. Zheng is easy, witty and humorous. Most of all, it just reflects the frontier researches in the high-tech field and conveys the ideas of reform and development through innovation for enterprises which is advocated in Heiko Conference this year. For our students, we can learn from it in our choices of career path and academic pursuits.
